Assam Top Cops Start Police Station Visits For Yearly Inspection

GUWAHATI: Top police officials on Tuesday started visits to police stations across Assam as a part of the yearly inspection initiative.

Talking to GPlus, Pranabjyoti Goswami, the CPRO of Assam Police said, “This is a part of routine yearly inspections across the state.”

The Director General of Assam Police (DGP), GP Singh visited the Panbazar Police Station in Guwahati for inspection.

Talking to the media, GP Singh said all top police officers would be visiting police stations across the state for inspections. The DGP is scheduled to undertake inspections of six police stations.

The DGP said the department is planning to provide permanent accommodation for police personnel across the state. He expressed plans to address the issue by demolishing old, dilapidated structures and replacing them with new ones.

Singh instructed the officials at Panbazar Police Station to relocate seized vehicles to another facility.

In addition to DGP GP Singh, Special DGP (Admin) Harmeet Singh will also inspect police stations across the state. DIG (Admin & STF) Partha Sarathi Mahanta on Tuesday visited Majuli for inspection
