Assam: Tinsukia Police Recover Suspected IED From Makum

 

GUWAHATI: Security forces on Wednesday morning recovered three kilograms of suspected Improvised Explosive Device (IED) from the Makum area in the Tinsukia district of Assam.

As per media reports, the suspected IED, which was wired, was wrapped in a plastic bag.

The area was cordoned off immediately after the news about the discovery reached the police, and the bomb disposal squad was called in, the media reported.

As per media reports, the site's remains will be examined by forensics to determine the type of explosive used.

The police are investigating the incident to arrest the persons involved, their motive and their target.
