Assam: Tinsukia Medical College Recognised By National Medical Commission

GUWAHATI: Tinsukia Medical College in Assam has been officially recognised by the National Medical Commission, becoming the state's 13th medical institute. This was confirmed Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet on Saturday, July 6.

Tinsukia Medical College has been approved for admission to 100 undergraduate seats per year. CM Himanta took to X expressing his gratitude saying, “ Great news for the people of Assam. The National Medical Commission has officially recognized Tinsukia Medical College, approving 100 undergraduate admissions per year. With this, the number of medical colleges in Assam has now risen to 13. My deepest gratitude to the medical fraternity of Assam for this outstanding achievement.”

 He also expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for inaugurating the Tinsukia Medical College and Hospital. "This milestone marks a significant step forward in enhancing healthcare education and services in our state," the CM added. Modi had inaugurated the facility on March 9 during a two-day visit to the state.
