GUWAHATI: In an unfortunate incident, a woman died on the spot and two others succumbed to their injuries after a speeding Innova car rammed into a group of people on Saturday, September 28.
According to reports, during the early morning hours, a group of people who were participating in the Mahalaya rally were taken over by a speeding Toyota Innova car at Durgabari in Tinsukia.
Following the incident, a woman identified as Numali Barua died on the spot and two others, Ritamoni Gohain and Priya Gohain succumbed to their injuries at Dibrugarh Medical College.
It is to be mentioned that locals in the area thrashed the owner of the vehicle, identified as Gaurav Dey, leaving him seriously injured. Later, Dey was shifted to a hospital for medical attention.
