GUWAHATI: The Silsako Beel will soon be made into the largest lake in Assam, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced today.
Assam CM tweeted, “The Silsako Beel will be made into the largest lake in Assam.”

Sharing images of the design model of the Silsako Lake he tweeted, “Assam will soon have the largest lake at Silsako. A spectacular model of the proposed Silsako lake has been designed and it will add to the scenic grandeur and ease the perennial artificial flooding in Guwahati.”
An eviction drive is being carried out at Silsako since Monday. As per reports, till now, almost 160 houses have been demolished in the area out of the total 453 houses that will be evicted in the drive.
