Assam Silpi Award 2025: Anima Choudhury, Mukul Rabha Among Recipients

 

GUWAHATI: Assam’s Minister for Cultural Affairs, Bimal Borah announced the recipients of  Silpi Award 2025 along with other honours on Sunday, January 5. The awards celebrate exceptional contributions to the arts, literature, and social work, recognising individuals who have made an impact in their respective fields.

Anima Choudhury, a playback singer, and Mukul Rabha, a folk singer, have been named as recipients of the Silpi Award for 2025. 

The Nat Surya Phani Sharma Award for 2024 will be conferred upon Reba Phukan, a veteran actress who has been a prominent figure in Assamese cinema and theatre. Hira Neog, another actress, will receive the Sahityacharya Atul Chandra Hazarika Award in recognition of her outstanding work and dedication to the performing arts.

Meanwhile, Jaleshwar Brahma, a social worker known for his efforts in community development and welfare, has been honoured with the Bhimbhor Deori Award.
