GUWAHATI: The Assam Government, under the orders of the Governor, has issued a notification announcing the appointment of three IAS officers to pivotal positions within the state's bureaucracy.
With a rich experience dating back to 1994, Samir Kumar Sinha, an IAS officer, has been designated as Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister and Additional Chief Secretary to the Assam Government, Finance Department. He will also continue to serve as Additional Principal Resident Commissioner at Assam Bhawan, New Delhi. Sinha will now draw a salary and other allowances in accordance with the Higher Administrative Grade (HAG) scale.
Another seasoned IAS officer from the 1994 batch, Avinash Purushottam Das Joshi, has been entrusted with the role of Additional Chief Secretary to the Assam Government, overseeing the General Administration, Health and Family Welfare Departments. Concurrently, he will remain in charge as Additional Principal Resident Commissioner at Assam Bhawan, New Delhi. Similar to Sinha, Joshi's compensation package will now align with the HAG scale.
Adding to the roster of appointees is Niraj Verma, IAS, who will now take on the position of Additional Chief Secretary to the Assam Government, responsible for the Home and Political, Power (E), and Personnel Departments. Additionally, he will continue serving as the Additional Principal Resident Commissioner at Assam Bhawan, New Delhi. Verma will also receive a compensation package commensurate with the HAG scale.
