Officials informed, “The section has been imposed due to the flood situation in the National Park. The animals might move out of the park towards the Karbi Anglong side and towards the NH-37. So to reduce the speed of the vehicles on the NH-37, section 144 has been imposed.”

Further, for safety of the animals, the vehicles passing through the park area from Jakhalabandha to Numaligarh have been asked to maintain a speed limit of 40 kms/hour.
