GUWAHATI: Acting on intelligence indicating the potential presence of arms and ammunition, a joint operation was undertaken by Assam Rifles in collaboration with Manipur Police at Aimol Village in the Kangpokpi District of Manipur. The operation, launched to ensure regional security and combat illicit activities, yielded significant results.
The joint forces successfully recovered a cache of weapons, including one self-loading rifle, One Assault Rifle, One Single Shot Barrel Gun, various types of ammunition, two grenades, and other warlike stores.
The operation highlights the coordinated efforts of the Assam Rifles and Manipur Police in maintaining law and order and curbing the proliferation of illegal arms in the region.
The Assam Rifles took to X to put out a statement, which read, “Acting on specific intelligence regarding presence of arms & ammunition in general area Aimol Village, Kangpokpi District, Manipur, #AssamRifles alongwith @ManipurPolice launched a joint search operation & recovered One Self Loading Rifle, One Assault Rifle, One Single Shot Barrel Gun, ammunition, Two grenades & other war like stores.”
