GUWAHATI: The Forest Department in Kaziranga National Park recovered the carcass of a rhino from a lake near Mithunmari Forest Camp in Kohora range on August 25, as per reports.
According to media reports, the horn of the rhino had been missing, raising suspicion of poaching.

However, as per the forest officials they stated while speaking to the media that the rhino had died a natural death and the horn might have fallen off due to decomposition.
According to media reports, the Forest Department has also launched a search operation to locate the horn and determine the cause of death.
The forest officials have also stated that the carcass has been sent for further investigation.
