GUWAHATI: The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption caught Dhruba Charan Nath, a government driver, red-handed while accepting a bribe on behalf of a government official on August 6.

The incident occurred at a canteen in the office of the Kalaigaon Revenue Circle, located in the Udalguri district. Nath was found to be allegedly accepting bribe on behalf of Rahi Ram Mandal, a Lot Mandal in the same office, for land-related works.
The operation also led to the apprehension of the aforementioned government official Rahi Ram Mandal. He was found to have conspired with Nath to demand and accept the bribe through the driver.
Both individuals are now in custody and face charges related to bribery and corruption.
