Aiming to improve the nutritional intake of children, the initiative is seen as a significant step towards providing a balanced and wholesome diet.

An official directive from the Executive Director of Samagra Shiksha Assam (SSA) has been issued to the District Mission Coordinators and Assistant District Nodal Officers of PM POSHAN, instructing them to implement the updated menu immediately.

This newly revised meal plan includes 12 carefully curated nutritious recipes to offer students a variety of healthy meals throughout the week. It will ensure that children receive an adequate intake of carbohydrates, proteins, and essential vitamins, thereby fostering their physical and mental development.

Among the key additions to the menu is a millet-based recipe of lentils and vegetables, leafy greens, etc. to provide essential nutrients. In cases where millet is unavailable, dal and vegetables will be served as an alternative.

Further monitoring will follow to ensure successful implementation.
