GUWAHATI: Renowned cartoonist and painter from Assam Trailokya Dutta passed away on Wednesday night at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). He was 90.

Dutta was undergoing treatment at GMCH since Monday morning where he breathed his last. He was suffering from old-age related ailments.

His last rites will be performed at Nabagraha crematorium.
Born in 1930 at Ratanpur village in the Bajali area of Barpeta district, Trailokya Dutta did his first box cartoon or pocket cartoon for the Dainik Asom newspaper titled ‘Kahudi’.
He was a recipient of the Artist pension of Assam government, Bishnu Rabha award, Amulya Kakati Award, and Sonit Konwar Gajen Baruah award.
