GUWAHATI: Three people were brutally beaten up on Tuesday night at Raha toll plaza by the toll gate employees when the former asked for toll receipts.
The injured were Farooq Ahmed, Mustafa Ahmed, and Raihan Ahmed.
They were travelling from Guwahati to Hojai.
According to the information, the victims asked the toll plaza employees for a receipt after paying the required toll fee, which the employees allegedly refused.
As a result, an altercation ensued, and the toll plaza employee dragged the three people from the car and severely beat them.
Meanwhile, Assam DGP GP Singh stated on social media that Nagaon police had been directed to take legal action.
"Reference incident of assault at Raha toll gate - SP @nagaonpolice has been instructed to take lawful action. @assampolice," the DGP tweeted.
