GUWAHATI: Cachar Police intercepted an e-rickshaw in Krishnapur Part II, under the jurisdiction of Silchar Police Station, and seized 38 kilograms of cannabis valued at ₹30 lakh. The operation, which took place on Tuesday, March 11, led to the arrest of three individuals suspected of drug peddling.

Assam’s chief minister took to X and stated about the operation.
Further investigations are underway to trace the wider network involved in the smuggling of narcotics.
This operation follows another major drug bust by Cachar Police just a day earlier, on Monday, March 10, when they confiscated 98,000 Yaba tablets worth ₹30 crore along with ₹3.5 lakh in cash in Chandrapur Part II, Kakmara, under the Lakhipur Police Station.
