Assam Police Recover Diego Maradona's Stolen Heritage Watch

GUWAHATI: The Assam Police recovered a stolen heritage watch belonging to football legend Diego Maradona in Sivasagar on Saturday morning, December 11. The Sivasagar Police arrested one Wazid Hussein based on the input shared by Special DGP of Assam GP Singh in this connection. 

Police sources reveal that under Special DGP's constant guidance, Sivasagar Police successfully recovered the heritage watch belonging to Diego Maradona and apprehended the culprit.

On the matter of how the watch was tracked in Sivasagar, Assam, a highly-placed source told G Plus that "We got information as we have networks in international police cooperation and from central agencies about the watch being tracked in Sivasagar and we began our investigation after that".

A follow-up and lawful action is being taken by the Police. Further information regarding the cost of the heritage watch, exact location as to where the watch was kept and further links in terms of the arrest will only be revealed by a press briefing that is scheduled to be held at 2 PM on Saturday, December 11, at SP Office in Sivasagar, Assam.

Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister (CM) Himanta Biswa Sarma has claimed the bust to be "an act of international cooperation between the Assam Police and Dubai Police."

"In an act of international cooperation, Assam police has coordinated with Dubai Police HQ through Indian federal LEA to recover a heritage Hublot watch belonging to legendary footballer Late Diego Maradona and arrested one Wazid Hussein. Follow-up lawful action is being taken," the CM tweeted.
