GUWAHATI: The police recovered a large cache of weapons in the Runikhata area of Chirang district, on July 19.

The seized items included two handmade AK series rifles, a revolver with five live bullets, six walkie-talkies, and three receivers.
Director General of Police (DGP) GP Singh announced on X, "Recoveries in Chirang district today. We will unearth all weapons that are remnants of the dark period of militancy."

Despite the recovery, no arrests have been made. Assam Police are continuing their investigation to identify the owners of the hidden arsenal.
