CM Sarma shared that the company is looking to set up a Boeing facility in Assam. The proposed plant would involve bringing decommissioned Boeing aircraft from around the world to the state for dismantling and processing, provided the required land is made available.
While the project remains in the proposal phase, Sarma said that the very fact that such an offer is on the table highlights Assam's emerging role as a hub for major industrial projects. "Whether or not this materializes, I wanted to share this news with you to show that Assam is stepping into a new era," he said.
In his address, Sarma also stated students to prepare themselves with the necessary skills to succeed in the rapidly evolving industrial landscape. He noted that Assam is transitioning into the "semiconductor age" and called on the state's youth to seize the new opportunities emerging from this transformation. "Assam has moved beyond the difficult years of unrest and violence. Today, it is a growing state with vast potential," he added.
