Assam Police On High Alert For Upcoming India Vs Australia T20I Match In Barsapara

 

GUWAHATI: Preparations for the T20 International cricket match between India and Australia have begun as security forces are all set to be deployed on November 28.

The Assam Police have gathered at the ACA (Assam Cricket Association) practice ground, where they are being briefed for the safe facilitation of the Indian and Australian teams. 

According to official information, the officials stationed are: 

16 APBN (Assam Police Battalion), 12 APBN, 27 APBN, 9 APBN, 3 APBN, 14 APBN, 2 Aptf, WPC (Woman Police Constable), Traffic Police, Home Guard, APRO (Assam Police Radio Organisation) and the police officers will be deployed into 11 zones. 
 
The Joint Commissioner of Police also made an announcement that there is a possibility of 30,000 spectators attending the match. The authorities will be extra cautious about the arrival of the Australian team owing to the security issues last time.

He further stated that security will be furthermore strengthened as November 27 and 28 are considered as ULFA-(I) protest day, so any anti-social activities will be reported immediately. 

The stadium gates will be opened from 3 PM onwards so the security deployement must be completed by 2 PM.
