Assam Panchayat Poll: BJP surpasses Congress, set to win full majority in Dispur

GUWAHATI: The counting for Assam Panchayat Poll 2018 is underway and the results will be out by  Thursday (December 13) afternoon. 

As per current reports the BJP is gaining across the majority of the districts in Assam and was able to capture the leading Panchayats including the Dispur constituency.

The counting of votes is underway amid tight security in 40 centres in 26 districts of the state. The Assam panchayat elections 2018 were conducted in two phases on December 5 and 9.

Over 82 percent of votes were polled during the two phases.

However, AIUDF and Congress are going neck to neck in Hailakandi. AIUDF gets 4 ZPC seats, BJP gets 4 ZPC seats, AGP gets 1 ZPC seat. As per the latest trends, AIUDF is leading in 2 ZPC seats.
