Assam: Over ₹100 Crore Allocated For Apon Ghar Scheme

GUWAHATI: To make housing loans more accessible and affordable for the Assam Government employees, in yesterday's State Cabinet Meeting, the government approved the disbursement of the budgeted amount of ₹107.30 crore for interest subvention in the financial year (FY) 2023-24.

This allocation is earmarked to support State Government emplAssaoyees who have availed of housing loans under the Apon Ghar - Subsidised Housing Loan scheme.

The Apon Ghar scheme has been providing financial assistance to State Government employees aspiring to own a home, offering subsidised housing loans to make homeownership more achievable.

As of now, 37,626 State Government employees have availed benefits under the Apon Ghar scheme, with approximately ₹5,222 crore already disbursed through various banks.

The interest subvention provided by the Assam Government further reduces the financial burden on State Government employees, making housing loans more affordable and encouraging more individuals to invest in their own homes.
