An ejection operation against the unauthorized occupation of land in the Longai Reserved Forest (RF) area was completed on Wednesday, June 2 by the Karimganj Forest Division under the leadership of the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO).
The initiative is aimed at removing encroachers with the help of Police and CRPF personnel in presence of the Executive Magistrate.
A total of 28 dwelling huts and illegal plantations were dismantled during the operation on May 28 and June 2. Approximately 60 hectares of RF land have been cleared off from the illegal occupation of encroachers so far.
More ejection operations will be carried out by the forest division in the upcoming days.
