GUWAHATI: Following the announcement of Bajali being declared a district, Mridul Kumar Das has been appointed as the District Commissioner of the newly formed Bajali district.
This was announced by the Department of Personnel in a notice issued on Wednesday.
The Governor of Assam has announced the creation of a new administrative district, "Bajali," with its headquarters located in Madan Rama Nagar, Pathsala. This decision comes as a strategic step to streamline governance and improve accessibility for the public.
The geographical boundaries of the newly established Bajali district will align precisely with the boundaries of the recently delimited legislative Assembly Constituency of Bajali. This ensures a well-defined and coherent administrative region, facilitating better service delivery to the residents.
To further assess and determine any additional geographical areas that might be included within the Bajali district, a Cabinet Sub-Committee was formed, as per the notification issued under reference No. ECF-367433/22, dated September 30, 2023.
This committee has been given a 30-day timeline to examine and propose any such extensions to the district.
