Assam MP Injured During Parliament Security Breach

 

GUWAHATI: Assam Member of Parliament (MP) Dilip Saikia, sustained minor injuries on Wednesday during the security breach in Lok Sabha session. 

According to media reports, two intruders jumped into the Lok Sabha from the visitors' gallery and started running around the House. 

As per sources, during the commotion, the intruder leaped in front of Dilip Saikia, causing an injury to his left hand. Medical attention was provided, and he received necessary treatment. 

The proceeding of the Lok Sabha was suspended and the MPs started coming out of the Lok Sabha. There was a commotion as the intruder, wearing a blue jacket, was found roaming inside the Lok Sabha. 

The incident occurred while West Bengal BJP MP Khagen Murmu was addressing the Lok Sabha. The presence of the intruder prompted the suspension of proceedings until 2 PM, as reported by various media outlets.

Saikia was not available for comment but his close associates confirmed the report of his injury.
