GUWAHATI: One person has been arrested after it was alleged that he had sexually assaulted a minor in the Moran area, Dibrugarh on August 24. The man was subsequently arrested by the police on August 25.

The accused identified as Prasan Das, reportedly took advance of the absence of the girl's family members in Khowang, Moran.
The girl screamed for help, prompting the accused to flee the scene.
When her parents returned home, the girl recounted the incident to her family. Subsequently, the family lodged a formal complaint at the Khowang Police Station.
Talking to GPlus, a police official from the Khowang police station said, “The accused is a distant relative of the victim and used the opportunity of the parents not being present to molest the victim. We have taken him in.”
The accused is now in custody. Further details are await.
