The "Sanskritik Mahasangram," organised by the Cultural Affairs Department, is scheduled to commence on October 25, 2023, and will run until February 7, 2024. The competition will encompass three categories: Group A, featuring participants aged 12 to 18; Group B, comprising participants aged 19 to 24; and Group C, accommodating participants aged 25 to 35.

The first, second, and third-place winners from these levels will advance to the Legislative Assembly Constituency level. Subsequently, the winners at the LAC level will compete at the district level, with a grand finale to be held in Guwahati, where all district-level winners will vie for the state-level championship. Winners will receive certificates, mementoes, and cash rewards, with prizes awarded starting from the LAC level.

CM Sarma shared that nearly 10 lakh participants from across the state will partake in the Mahasangram across approximately three thousand venues. The state government has allocated ₹36 crore for the event. Sarma urged the organisers not to solicit any donations for the programme and revealed that each Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) can allocate 10 per cent of their local area development fund for the Mahasangram.

The ceremony was attended by Cultural Affairs Minister Bimal Borah, PHE Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah, Handloom and Textile Minister UG Brahma, Revenue Minister Jogen Mohan, MP and Political Secretary to the Chief Minister Pabitra Margherita, Chief Secretary Paban Kumar Borthakur, and other dignitaries.
