Assam Lad Bags Double Gold At Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship

 

GUWAHATI: Bedabrat Bharali from Assam has made the state proud by securing two gold medals and a bronze at the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship, currently taking place in Fiji from September 16 to September 21.

The young weightlifter, competing in the 73kg category, showcased exceptional strength and skill to claim top honours in both the Youth and Junior divisions, while also clinching a bronze in the Senior category.

Bharali’s impressive performance saw him lift 136kg in the Snatch and 164kg in the Clean and Jerk, solidifying his position as one of the rising stars in Indian weightlifting. His double gold in the Youth and Junior categories highlights his dominance in the sport at a young age, while his bronze in the Senior division is a testament to his ability to compete with more experienced athletes.
