Assam IPS Officer To Receive Silver Medal From NIA On Republic Day

GUWAHATI: Assam's IPS officer, Shankar Brata Raimedhi, is set to be honored with the prestigious silver medal by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on January 26, 2024. This marks a historic achievement, as Raimedhi becomes the first Assamese IPS officer to receive such recognition.

Raimedhi's unwavering dedication to ensuring security and combatting extremism has garnered commendation from various quarters. The distinguished officer has previously earned the Union Home Minister's "Special Operation Medal" for his successful mission against ISIS. 

Taking to X, Assam Cabinet Minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass, stated, “Unprecedented honour for Assam's own IPS officer Shankar Brata Raimedhi! He'll be presented with the silver medal by NIA on January 26, 2024—the first Assamese IPS to achieve this milestone. He also earned the prestigious Union Home Minister's "Special Operation Medal" for his successful mission against ISIS. His dedication to ensuring security and combating extremism is commendable.”

The ceremony on Republic Day will celebrate his significant contributions to maintaining law and order.
