GUWAHATI: The accused in a stock market trading scam, Sumi Borah, announced on Wednesday, September 11, her intention to surrender to the Assam Police. In a video, Borah rejected the charges, calling media reports "baseless and fake." She criticised the misinformation circulating about her, claiming that less than 10% of it is true. Borah expressed distress over the negative impact on her life, stating, "Even before the court proves me guilty, the media has destroyed my life with accusations."

She added that the case, which started with online trading scams, has now inappropriately targeted her.

“I didn’t escape but was hiding due to the unbearable allegations. Today, after gaining confidence, I have decided to surrender and cooperate with Assam Police," she added.

Earlier on Wednesday, September 11, police arrested Tarkik Borah’s brother, Amlan Borah, in Bihar.

Borah continues to assert her innocence and is hopeful that the legal process will validate her claims. Furthermore, she believes the evidence will ultimately clear her name.
