Assam Introduces Digital Life Certificate For Pensioners

GUWAHATI: Assam has announced the introduction of a Digital Life Certificate, allowing pensioners to submit their life certificates digitally without the need to visit banks in person.

The initiative, under the Administrative Reforms, Training, Pension and Public Grievances Department in collaboration with the National Informatics Centre (NIC), aims to simplify the pension disbursement process by providing a hassle-free method for pensioners to submit their life certificates.

Pensioners can now complete this requirement through digital channels, either by using their smartphones or biometric devices with the Jeevan Pramaan Application.

This innovative approach eliminates the necessity for physical presence in front of the Pension Disbursing Authority, typically the banks.

Two convenient modes are being offered for providing a Digital Life Certificate:

1. Jeevan Pramaan Mobile App:

The Jeevan Pramaan Mobile App can be downloaded from the Google Play Store for Android devices.
Additionally, a step-by-step guide is available on the official website for reference.

2. Pension Sewa Kendra (PSKs):

Alternatively, pensioners have the option to visit Pension Sewa Kendra (PSKs) to acquire and upload their Digital Life Certificates using biometric devices provided at these centres.

Certain prerequisites need to be met for pensioners to access this service, including having an Aadhaar number and an existing mobile number linked with Aadhaar.

Pensioners must also download the PC/Mobile/Tablet Application to register for a Life Certificate, and it's crucial to link their Aadhaar details with the Pension Disbursing Bank.

Upon successful submission, pensioners can access their submitted Digital Life Certificate from the official website.
