This was announced by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma following the cabinet meeting held on Monday, May 5.

The new format has been implemented to provide more legal and administrative weight to government decisions, which were earlier perceived to be diluted under the previous format. Sarma stated in particular that proving the weight and credibility of ‘official memorandums’ in court-related matters was becoming a hassle for the government.

Another cabinet decision involved granting a one-time payment of ₹2 lakh to 347 teachers who were left out of appointments under the OBB scheme.
