GUWAHATI: The Assam cabinet has sanctioned ₹300 crore for the financial year 2024–25 to promote self-employment among youth.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared the update on his X handle following the cabinet meeting held on Monday, May 5.
The funds, sanctioned under the Mukhya Mantri Swa Niyojan Yojana (MMSNY), will be utilised to support entrepreneurs through financial assistance, skill training, and market linkage, as the scheme has been intended to create a sustainable ecosystem for self-reliance among youth across Assam.
This decision comes alongside other cabinet approvals for industrial investment, healthcare infrastructure, and LPG plant development in Goalpara.
