GUWAHATI: Teams from the Assam Excise Department in Dhemaji and Dibrugarh districts conducted successful raids resulting in the seizure of a substantial quantity of illicit liquor on Tuesday, May 14.

The authorities in Dhemaji intercepted a vehicle transporting contraband and seized 15 cases of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL). Simultaneously, in a separate operation conducted by the Dibrugarh team, 6 cases of IMFL were confiscated along with 216 bottles of denatured spirit.

The combined value of the seized liquor amounts to approximately ₹8.15 lakh.
Investigations into the origins and destinations of the seized contraband are underway, with stringent action being undertaken against those involved in the illegal liquor trade.
