GUWAHATI: In an operation against illicit liquor, the Kamrup Metro Excise department busted liquor dens at the Himalayan Distillery Company in Jorabat on Thursday, September 12.
According to reports, based on a tip-off, the department raided the Himalayan Distillery Company which was sealed a few years ago and busted the dens producing these liquor.

In the raid, the excise department seized around 5000 empty bottles, liquor labels of different brands, 3200 litres of Extra Neutral Alcohol along with overhead tanks, filter and bottle caps used in the manufacturing process.
It is to be mentioned that the distillery company was sealed after the owner failed to repay his debts to the bank.
Meanwhile, the department has arrested one identified as Subhash Boro in the raid.
