GUWAHATI: In a drive against drugs smuggling, huge consignment of yaba tablets were seized by Hailakandi police.
Acting on information provided by a credible source, a joint operation was conducted by the Officer-in-Charge (O/C) of Hailakandi Police Station (PS), along with the In-Charge of Bandukmara Outpost (OP), and their team. This operation was carried out in the vicinity of Rangauti, Hailakandi.
During the operation, an intensive search was conducted at the residence of known drug peddler Hafijur Rahman Laskar. The search targeted a vehicle which was parked at the location.
As a result of the thorough search, a substantial quantity of narcotics was uncovered. Specifically, 111.97 grams of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) in the form of 1000 Yaba tablets were discovered and subsequently seized by the law enforcement team.
However, the individual connected to the illicit drug activity managed to evade arrest and is currently at large. Efforts to apprehend the absconding suspect is underway.
This operation marks a significant step in the ongoing campaign against drug-related offenses in the region.
