Assam HSLC Results 2023: Second Highest Pass Percentage Since 1992

GUWAHATI: Students appearing for the HSLC examination this year in Assam registered a pass percentage of 72.69 per cent, the second highest since 1992.

The Board of Secondary Education in Assam (SEBA) on Monday announced the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination results for 2023.

A significant 72.69 per cent of the candidates who appeared for the exams successfully passed the board examination.

And as per a chart provided by the SEBA, this year’s passing percentage is the second-highest in the past three decades.

In 1992, only 29.00 per cent of candidates who appeared in the HSLC Examination conducted by SEBA, passed. It was the lowest pass percentage in the last three decades.

In 2021, the overall pass percentage was 93.10 per cent. And it was the highest passing percentage since 1992. Since physical exams were not possible in 2021, students were promoted based on their previous performances.

In 2022, the pass percentage of the HSLC Examination in Assam was down to only 56.49 per cent.

Compared with the results from the previous years, higher pass percentages were observed in 2013 at 70.71 per cent and in 2011 at 70.38 per cent.

This year, a total of 415,324 candidates appeared in the HSLC Examination conducted by the SEBA. A total of 94,913 students passed in the first division, 148,573 students attained the second division, and 58,394 passed in the third division.

Additionally, 18,653 students earned star marks, while 8,517 students received a distinction.
