GUWAHATI: The Assam cabinet has authorised the transfer of ₹218 crore as household assistance for the month of May under the Orunodoi 2.0 scheme.

The announcement was made by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on his official X handle after the cabinet meeting held on Monday, May 5.
The transfer is reported to benefit 18.31 lakh families in the state, continuing the government’s financial aid to economically disadvantaged households. This amount also includes a ₹250 component earmarked for medicine purchase.
