GUWAHATI: The Assam government is going to set up 60 more COVID-19 screening centres in Guwahati city area-wise.
Addressing a press meet in Guwahati, Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “150 laboratory technicians will be recruited and will be deployed in all the new screening centres. Their jobs will be permanent.”

With this, the city will have 90 screening centres in which 30 are already active ward-wise. So far 1 lakh 10 thousand tests have been conducted in Guwahati.
The minister further added that 3 lakh tests need to be conducted to ensure normalcy in Guwahati.
