The Assam Govt on Wednesday effected the online mutual transfer of 8,550 regular and contractual teachers of elementary education.
State Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma while speaking on the move said, "The massive exercise assumes significance as it would serve the mutual need of the teachers and at the same time save their precious time as a result of which students will benefit."
Altogether 10,794 applications were received, of which 8,550 were found to be eligible. This includes inter and intra-district transfers.
“The teachers concerned can now download the list and join the respective schools with immediate effect,” Sarma said.
