Assam Govt. to construct 83,000 houses for Lower Income Group

In a meeting held at Janata Bhawan on Wednesday, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said that the Govt of Assam will soon adopt an affordable housing policy in the state for the financially weaker section of the society.

The government would also construct 83,000 houses for the people belonging to Lower Income Group (LIG) and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) in the urban areas of the state. 

“Housing is a basic requirement for every individual. Our government is committed to ensure housing for all and we would construct 83,000 houses at urban areas of the state for the Lower Income Group (LIG) and Economically Weaker Section (EWS)”, Sonowal announced. 

Sonowal directed the Urban Development Department to prepare the policy providing housing at affordable costs to the economically weaker section and finalize the same at the earliest.
