Assam Govt Issues Reclassification Of Land Within Notified Industrial Zones

GUWAHATI: The Revenue & D.M. Department has issued necessary instructions to all concerned Deputy Commissioners to resolve issues regarding the reclassification of land within notified Industrial Zones. 

The following points were made valid for the same issue:

An industrial zone from Jalukbari (Kamrup Metro) to Kukurmara (Kamrup district) and from Jalukbari to Tihu (Nalbari district) has been declared vide under Section 3 (A) of the Assam Land Revenue Re-assessment Act, 1936.

In case of any pattadar uses, the land for agricultural/residential purpose, he/she may pay the land revenue at the existing rate if desired. 

There is no provision for suo-moto reclassification of land and land under this zone is not automatically converted into Industrial Zone.

The land under this zone does not come under the purview of the Assam Agricultural land (Regulation of re-classification and transfer for non agricultural purpose) Act, 2015. Reclassification/ reclassification cum transfer is done based on rules and without realizing of premium.

The provision for re-classification and reclassification cum transfer has been incorporated in the existing ILRMS within the Industrial zone. 

It should be noted that earlier too, in a letter dated April 11, 2019, Revenue & D.M. Department had issued necessary instructions to all concerned Deputy Commissioners for the same.
