GUWAHATI: Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 20 lakhs to the family members of the late Assam Rifles jawan, Kalidas Sarma who lost his life in a terror attack on May 25.

According to reports, Kalidas Sharma who hailed from Khonamukh Berajan near Balipara of Sonitpur district; lost his life in a terrorist attack that took place in Nagaland. The chief minister said that the country is proud of the courage and valour displayed by the jawan who laid down his life for the sake of the nation.

Sonowal also prayed to the almighty for eternal peace of the departed soul and expressed his empathy to the bereaved family members.
