GUWAHATI: In a move to enhance the morale of Assam Police personnel, the Assured Career Progression Scheme has been introduced by the Assam Government in the recent cabinet meeting held on September 12 in Guwahati.
The scheme ensures at least three assured promotions for individuals starting from the Constable rank.
The Assured Career Progression Scheme entails a structured path for career advancement, encompassing the following promotions:
1. Constable to Lance Naik: The first step of this progressive scheme involves the promotion from the rank of Constable to Lance Naik, recognising and rewarding the dedication and commitment exhibited by personnel in their roles.
2. Lance Naik to Naik: The second assured promotion is the transition from Lance Naik to Naik, ensuring that hardworking individuals are duly acknowledged and promoted as they progress in their careers within the Assam Police force.
3. Naik to Havildar/Head Constable: The final stage of this career progression framework elevates Naiks to the esteemed positions of Havildar or Head Constable, thus providing long-term prospects and a sense of achievement.
Furthermore, in addition to the regular course of promotions, every Assam Police personnel will be eligible for an assured promotion to the next higher rank upon completing eight years of dedicated and exemplary service in a particular post. This advancement is subject to an individual's performance and vigilance clearance, ensuring that deserving officers are recognized and rewarded.
