GUWAHATI: The Assam government has unveiled the list of recipients of its literary awards and pensions for the year 2024-25. A total of 31 individuals will be honoured during a ceremony on December 7 commemorating the birth anniversary of the late literary icon Homen Borgohain.

The event will take place at Gauhati University at 2 PM, with Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma attending as the Chief Guest.
This year introduces a new approach for awardees already receiving government pensions. These individuals will be granted a certificate of recognition along with a one-time cash award of ₹50,000. Meanwhile, those not covered by any government pension scheme will receive a certificate and a monthly pension of ₹8,000.
