Assam Government Allocates ₹852.68 Crore For Elevated Corridor In Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Assam Government, during its recent cabinet meeting held at Janata Bhawan in Guwahati on Friday, made a significant announcement regarding the allocation of ₹852.68 crores for expediting the construction of a four-lane Elevated Corridor on GNB Road in Guwahati.

The proposed corridor will stretch from Dighalipukhuri towards Noonmati near FCI Godown.

It will include an extended two-lane arm towards Rajgarh Road, per the State's Special Object Plan and Design (SOPD) for the fiscal year 2023-24.

The decision to allocate this substantial budget addressed the growing traffic congestion to ensure smoother regional connectivity.

The Elevated Corridor project aims to enhance transportation efficiency, reduce travel time, and alleviate traffic woes along the GNB Road and its adjacent areas.

The construction of this elevated corridor will provide a vital link between Dighalipukhuri and Noonmati, streamlining traffic movement and facilitating seamless connectivity for commuters.

Additionally, the extended arm towards Rajgarh Road will improve accessibility and connectivity to this important route.
