GUWAHATI: The foundation stone for the construction of Tourist-cum-Cargo IWT Terminal on NW 2 (Brahmaputra) at Bogibeel in Dibrugarh was laid on July 4.
This was announced by the Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal on Twitter.
With an investment of ₹46.6 crore, the terminal aims to significantly boost trade and tourism in the Northeast region.
The completion of this project is slated for February 2024.
The Assam Chief Minister shared the tweet and highlighted that the Inland Water Terminal would play a crucial role in reestablishing Dibrugarh as a key maritime centre in the North East.
