GUWAHATI: The Divisional Forest Officer, Social Forestry at Golaghat was apprehended on bribery charges by the Directorate of Vigilance And Anti-Corruption (DVAC), Assam, on Thursday, June 20.

DVAC authorities today trapped Jnana Ranjan Das, AFS, DFO, Social Forestry, Golaghat, after he allegedly accepted ₹30000 as bribe in his official residence at Golaghat, from the complainant for not cancelling a work order.
Das has been taken into custody. Necessary legal proceedings are underway.
