GUWAHATI: The Forest Beat Officer of Gabhoru was arrested for alleged bribery in Sonitpur on June 20 by the Directorate of Vigilance And Anti-Corruption (DVAC), Assam.

DVAC today trapped Gopal Deka, Forest Beat Officer, Gabhoru Beat, Sonitpur, after he allegedly accepted a bribe from the complainant in office for allowing unhindered movement of his vehicles carrying Forest products.
Necessary legal proceedings have been initiated against the accused. More details await.
