Assam: FIR filed against Majuli headmaster for forcibly cutting off students’ hair

GUWAHATI: An FIR was filed against the headmaster of a school in Majuli for forcefully cutting off hair of 17 students which is in conflict with the centuries old neo-Vaishnavite practise of wearing long hair.

It goes against the Sattriya tradition according to which Satra followers do not use any artificial treatment on their hair and keep them long.
