Assam: Executive Magistrate Caught Taking Bribe In Kamrup

 

GUWAHATI: In a recent operation, the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Assam, successfully apprehended Dipankar Kalita, an Assam Civil Services (ACS) officer holding the position of Executive Magistrate in the Office of the District Commissioner, Kamrup. Kalita was caught red-handed taking a bribe in connection with a matter related to land demarcation.

The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption took to X to put out a statement, which read, “2nd trap of the day! @DIR_VAC_ASSAM trapped red handed Dipankar Kalita, ACS, Executive Magistrate in the O/O DC, Kamrup, after he accepted bribe for land demarcation related matter. @CMOfficeAssam @assampolice @surendrakr_ips

The operation marks the second successful bribery trap conducted by the Directorate on the same day after they trapped Phanindra Das, a tea shop owner who was a middleman and Mukut Ali, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) who was in charge of the Jambari Outpost in Kamrup.
